HOW DO I....
Obtain A Repeat Prescription?

If you are on regular medication, your doctor may arrange for you to obtain a prescription without being seen on each and every occasion. These can be ordered by emailing us at: deans.prescriptions@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk, phoning 0844 477 3144 (select option 3) between 11.30am and 3.00pm Monday to Friday or by calling in person at the surgery during normal opening hours.

It is advisable to complete the right-hand side of your prescription when ordering as this simplifies the ordering process and helps prevent errors caused by illegible handwriting. Please allow two complete working days for processing repeat prescriptions. Prescriptions that are not on repeat will take longer than two days to action.

When your repeat is due to expire you will receive a message on your prescription. To prevent any delays you should make an appointment to consult your GP before the next issue is due.
